The Securities and Financial Markets Division of the Central Bank was created to promote a sound and progressive financial services sector.
The division works to:
- Promote protection of investors and policy holders in
Seychelles
securities, funds and insurance markets and to foster fair, efficient and transparent financial markets.
- Promote the growth and development of
Seychelles
’ funds, securities and insurance markets.
- Maintain an effective compliance and enforcement programme.
- Carry out research and collect, compile and disseminate information on
Seychelles
securities, funds and insurance markets.
- Collaborate with the industry and government on financial services legislations, regulations, supervisory policy and practices.

It achieves this by:
Promoting and developing
Seychelles
as a centre for carrying on of financial services;
- Monitoring, supervising and coordinating the conduct of financial services from within
Seychelles
;
- Providing appropriate supervision and regulation of the conduct on non banking financial services;
- Formulating appropriate policies, and providing advice and assistance of the regulation of non banking financial services;
- Regulating and administering insurance, mutual funds and securities as per the relevant Act.
- Ensuring the jurisdiction’s compliance with the mandates of FATF, IMF, the International Organisation of Securities Commission and the Offshore Group of Insurance Supervisors.
